Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. They provide practical, medical, emotional and financial support and campaign for better cancer care. This support is offered for patients and carers alike. This charity was the initial inspiration for our first ever event after they proved to be a source of comfort and an inspiration to Marie and Martin. The Linda McCartney Centre provides people from all over the North West some of the most advanced treatments available in the UK today. The practical and comfortable centre has a state of the art breast assessment unit, a purpose built chemotherapy unit, outpatient unit and a research and development department overseeing over 500 different forms of research within the Royal Liverpool University Hospital. HODU is the Haemotology Oncology Day Unit which is part of the Airedale NHS Trust. This unit provides care and treatment for cancer patients. The unit itself does not have a major source of funds coming in so we continue to support them in memory of a dear friend, Jackie Dennis. | |
